    This one-day course targets law enforcement officers or investigators seeking to expand and maintain their understanding of Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs. The program is tailored to enrich participants' knowledge and ensure their safety during interactions and investigations involving members of these groups. he historical perspective will continue with a discussion of each of the major groups. In addition, the students will be exposed to the current status of a large portion of clubs who operate nationwide perspective. 

    Instructor: Detective Mark  Lovett is a 25 year veteran of the Columbus, Ohio Division of Police serving in various assignments in the Patrol Bureau, the Detective Bureau, the Strategic Response Bureau and the Special Services Bureau. Detective Lovett was assigned to the Assault Squad, in the Detective Bureau’s Homicide Section for 7 years, where he investigated hundreds of shootings, stabbings and other serious violent crimes. A majority of these cases involved gang violence.

    Detective Lovett has been assigned to the Special Services Bureau’s Criminal Intelligence Unit, commonly referred to as the Division’s Gang Unit, for the past 12 years. Detective Lovett is tasked with the collection, documentation, and maintenance of intelligence information that is ultimately utilized in the focused investigation against criminal street gangs, outlaw motorcycle gangs and white supremacist groups. Detective Lovett is recognized as a national, regional and state-wide expert on various gang related topics & issues.
